Bio:

I'm an unstoppable Vocalist/Frontman/Songwriter/Backing Vocalist/Guitarist.

 

I've been told; "You don't need a microphone with a voice as strong as that!"

As a child at 5-6 years of age, I started singing (both solo and choir) and acting in plays in Church/Sunday school, Primary School, and in local halls.  I started learning to play the guitar at age 14, then joined my first soul band as a vocalist a year later.  Then joined a Glam Rock/pop band, then a blues band; and then an original/covers Funk band (based at one of Cambridge Universities, United Kingdom) where we played at quite a number of their May Balls functions and other events.  Throughout the years that followed, I took more to singing than playing the guitar, as singing is where my passion lies.

As a Vocalist/Frontman and guitarist; I've performed in semi-professional bands at a range of functions and venues like pubs, weddings, parties, balls, social clubs, hotels, nightclubs, universities, corporate functions, military bases, festivals, barbecues, charity events and even a vessel on the River Thames.  I've won singing competitions (solo, band and karaoke); done sessions (live and studio).  As a songwriter; I've written several songs, and been offered a publishing deal with one of them.  Have attracted strong interest from record companies - strongest from Arista Records (back in the day).

I have a distinctive powerful vocal sound/style (natural and falsetto).  Because my voice is powerful, it's been said; you don't need a microphone with a voice like that!  I can also get an audience motivated with ease. Some say; I'm like a James Brown; sounds like Errol Brown - in some of the high notes; Levi Stubbs & Teddy Pendergrass because of my gravelly voice.  Eddy Grant - I suppose because of the Caribbean accent when singing reggae.  But all that is debatable…because I know I have my own original distinctive vocal sound and dancing style.

I have several years’ experience singing live - soul, Motown, Disco, Funk, Reggae, Soca, Jazz, Blues, Rhythm'n'Blues, Rock'n'Roll and Rock. I've recorded in home and professional studios - such as Chapel Studios in Lincolnshire, UK.

I’m also experienced as an Actor/Supporting Artist/Extra & Photographic Model.

Unfortunately, we're going to have to bank you for now at least as we have gone for a majority vote on a female for this project but if we get a chance to do something with a male vocalist we'll be in touch in the new year.

What a great gig! Really enjoyed it, and the crowd seemed to as well. Everybody played and sang really well, and Norby, on his first gig with us, proved that he really is the "Soul Man"!

 

If every gig is as much fun as that was, this band is going to have a blast.

Hi, a big thumbs up from me. I'm glad I've found your page on here, I've been enjoying your music for quite some time. I bet you hear this all the time, but I was genuinely amazed when I first heard one of your tunes online.

These are songs that I recorded years ago and uploaded them on here just to see who'd like them. Yes, I do hear it all the time...but yet, fail to be accepted in a band and other recording projects. Musicians and producers keep saying; "You have a good (even a great voice), but it's not what I'm/we're looking for. Folks always saying put your own band together instead of trying to get into someone else's band. But even that is a no-no too because I can't find musicians in my area that are into my style of music or dedicated enough to start a band from scratch. Moreover, some of them only have the £ signs in their head and don't want to rehearse. They want money before even 'one' rehearsal. Therefore, I'll spend years not doing anything...
